First and last name too similar?

We really like the name Stella but it is pretty similar to our last name. Our name is similar to Starchala. Would you name a child Stella Starchala? We would break it up with a middle name but I still feel like its too much. Opinions?

Personally, I wouldn't do it, but I don't think they sound awful together. The PP is right that it sounds like a stage name, which is my objection.

Sounds like a children's book character. Actually there was a Name Berry post on that. (I'll post it once NB gets it Internet act back together)

It could go really well or really bad depending on who she is. Movie star - yeah, easy to remember. On the other hand, could it be easier to create a mean song to tease the name?

Agreed. Whether you use it or not - I love the name Stella.

I wouldn't do it. We have the same problem with Grace. Love the name, but it doesn't sound good with our last name.

They don't sound terrible together, but growing up I had a similar name in that both my first and last names started with B and it was kind of sing-songy. It made me really hate my name. That said, I do love Stella!
