double stroller question

would you think any of the sit and stand strollers would be appropriate for a mom of two under two?  Baby #1 will be 22/23 months when second baby is born.  She's pretty independent and likes to walk, but likes her stroller as well.

Just not sure if it's a better fit for a toddler closer to three than to two.

Also, is the most popular one the Joovy one?

Re: double stroller question

  • We bought our Joovy ultralight caboose when Sarah had just turned 2. It was immediately a big hit and I can remember regretting not buying it sooner. As a SAHM I felt like I got lots of use out of the Joovy. Sarah loved standing on the back and riding.

my #1 is crazy.  I didn't trust him.  I bought an inexpensive double unbrella off of CL (but a quality Maclaren)...  I like that I can "lock him in".  We also have a double BOB.
  • E was 2.5 and did fine, so even if she doesn't do well at first, she probably would within 6mo or less.

Besides, there is a seatbelt on the bench seat in case the older kid meltsdown. And yes, I've used it. (I have the Joovy ultralight)

The biggest downside is if she still falls asleep in the stroller because you can't do that on the bench seat.

She tried to hop down while we were moving a time or two. But the threat that she'll have to sit down and be buckled in if she does it again did the trick.

  • We test drove the Joovy Ultralight, and William was not at all interested in sitting on that bench seat. I felt like he was hatching an escape plan the moment we tried it out. If I were to get it, I think I would wait until he tried it and seemed excited. Also, I wouldn't want it to be my only double (I know you have a P&T though). It doesn't seem practical for long walks when you want them to both stay put. We do a lot of walking around the neighborhood when it's not blazingly hot.

  • Definitely, we love ours. Just get the higher end model that has two real seats, and then can convert to a bench later. Grant is 25 months and not ready for the bench yet.

I prefer this stroller over the side by sides because you're not banging into things,. Just have to watch out for people in front of you because it is really long. Grant LOVES it.

It also works with the Snugride (not sure which seat you have?) even though they advertise only their brand works with it.
