Can someone please help me understand how Brynna and Brenna sound different?!? I thought they were the same name just spelled different. But people keep telling me they are two different names!
I'm going with they are pronounced the same. Thats how I would say both names. Bry-nah is not the way I would think Brynna would be pronounced because it just sounds ugly that way.
It depends on how you speak the english language. Most northerners would say Brenna with more of an aahh sound where the e is. We southerners pronounce both spellings the sam. Kind of like pin and pen; to me, they are pronounced the same, to a northerner it is different.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
I pronounce them the same. I also pronounce pen and pin the same. It's regional. We've had a similar conversation on here about Erin and Aaron. I say those names exactly the same (Air-in), while the northerners pronounce both of the names differently than I do, with the E in Erin like the E in egg, and the A in Aaron like the A in apple.

I have this argument with my DH daily. He's a Kentucky boy, born and bred, so pin and pen are the same to him. Being a northerner, it drives me crazy that he doesn't say the "e" and "i" differently!

But I totally get what you're saying here!
Too funny. My DH is a northerner, and I tell him he says his own name wrong! It's Barrett, which he says Baaahhhh-reht, and I say Bare-it. He just sounds like such a transplant!

This must be why I am having trouble hearing the difference! I am a West Virginia girl and pin/pen, Ben/bin, when/win etc. all sound the same to me!!
Brynna - modern, invented version of BRYN which is a boys name, but I think it got snapped up with all the BRI names. Or it could be a cre8ive version of Brenna, however the pronunciation is Brin - Uh
Brenna - pronounced Bren - uh, it's either a feminine form of Brennan or a variation of Brenda (however all Brenna's I've met have vehemently denied this).

I'm a Wisconsin girl, so I'm on the sounding different train. However, I found this interesting 'cause I say Erin and Aaron the same (and often since one is a BFF and one is a cousin). We're pretty nasally up here, though, so I s'pose that makes sense.
Re: pronunciation help please!!!
Brynna - I would pronounce this as either BRY-na or Brin-na
Brenna - I prounounce as Bren-na
I read Brynna as if it were an "I" instead of a "Y" and as such, the pronunciations are a bit different to me.

I would pronounce Brynna with a short "i", Brin-nah.
Brenna would be with a short "e", Breh-nah.
They're 2 different (similar) names to me.

Me too.
I am sitting here going crazy, because pin/pen and brin-na/bren-na come out exactly the same to me.
I am originally from Virginia and have been told my accent is a little southern, so maybe that is why.
So to OP, I would pronounce those names exactly the same.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! I was going a little crazy too trying to figure it out...lol...must just be different accents!
Exactly this! Totally different sound to me. I'm from Michigan if that matters.
