Hi,
I'm new to this board (but not to the bump). I had a m/c last Thursday at 5w4d. It was my 2nd pregnancy (1st was successful). It was a natural m/c, no D&C. I have a follow-up with my dr. next week but I was told over the phone we could try again next cycle - after my next AF.
Yesterday, 1 week after the m/c, I felt like I was gearing up to ovulate. This morning I took an OPK and it was positive - well, not the darkest positive I've seen, but as positive as it looks the day before I usually get a true positive. I know you can O before your 1st post-m/c AF, but am surprised to be Oing this soon. Or could it be some flukey hormonal thing?
(Please note, my DH is infertile and we have to use a donor to conceive, so any talk of whether to BD or not is irrelevant!)
Re: Ovulating 1 week after m/c?
I'm sorry for your loss.
It's possible for an OPK to pick up HCG, so I am wondering if it's just hormone left in your system from the miscarriage. Are you tracking betas to make sure your levels are falling?
I thought of that. I had a beta done the day I miscarried - it was 16. I took an HPT the next day and got a very, very faint positive. Took another HPT on Monday, and it was negative. So, it seems my HCG is very, very low by now. Certainly too low to show up on an OPK, I would think (my understanding is they are only able to pick up high levels of HCG).
I believe I'll have another beta done when I see my dr. next week.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!

I would, to be sure.
Otherwise, yes, I think it is possible to O this soon. Your body is just really out of whack after a loss, which is why we, unfortunately, should wait a cycle or so for things to get back on track.
I'm so sorry for your loss! I imagine it's possible, rare, but almost anything is possible I guess.
I didn't ovulate at all after my first loss and then it took four weeks for me to ovulate after my second so I'm not sure what is going on with your body. I agree that anything can happen so you could be ovulating but I also think you may just be picking up things still from your pregnancy. I had positive and almost positive opks for a while after both of my miscarriages.
Mainly I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you're over here.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
