And my left thumb is going to give up on me

Two nights ago I gouged a few chunks out of my thumb while trying to put a shop-vac together.  I know, don't ask. 

Tonight I cut it while getting dinner ready because I am apparently not capable of talking on the phone and using a knife at the same time.

I can feel my heartbeat in 3 different places on my thumb.  It's very odd.
