That's really cool. I would like to host foreign exchange students one of these days. I was an exchange student and I absolutely love my Chilean family. We stayed with them again in November when we were there. It was such an incredible experience, I'd love to do that for an exchange student. DH and I are also big on doing whatever we can to make people realize that America and Americans aren't a bunch of fat, loud, obnoxious, clueless a-holes like they all think we are.

I'm fat, sometimes loud, sometimes obnoxious. I'm not clueless or an a-hole though (at least I try not to be). I am superfun though. And working on the fat thing with the help of Colinda's bible- I mean blog. LOL
I hope that she has a good time while she is with us. We have a lot of travel in our future so I hope that she doesn't mind being left. We had this all already planned before we found out that they really needed someone to host. She is arriving tomorrow......
I think it's a wonderful thing. Some of my favorite memories from being in high school were of meeting and becoming friends with an exchange student from Turkey. In fact, a lot of my friends still talk about him and wonder how he is.
DH lived with a host family in Austria for a semester and with another family in Germany. And they are all really, really close. In fact, we were invited to his host-brother's wedding in Sweden a year or so ago and, though we weren't able to go, it meant a lot to us. He still hopes to take me out there to meet them all.

Wow, that's a big thing to take on. I'd be nervous too! Good luck.
