We like this name a lot. 'May Eloise' are the names of my husband's grandma & my grandma, which have both passed. Does it match well with Piper? Is Piper too trendy of a name right now? I want to give our daughter an original name.
2k people named their daughter Piper last year, which is not a whole lot. It's on the rise, but still hasn't cracked the top 100. It probably will in a few years though.
I don't know what you mean by "original." I think Piper is a "trendy" name in the sense that it's something that fashion forward people are beginning to name their child in greater numbers, but it certainly isn't a "you'll see five Pipers in every kindergarten class" kind of thing like with Ava or Emma or Ella.
The three names together seem like a bit of a mouthful to me, but the family name thing is lovely. I'd probably be going "Eloise May."
We decided the middle name as "May Eloise" because the last name is Fry and seemed to us to roll off the tongue better than the other way around.
Piper May Eloise Fry
The food for thought is still something to consider, though!
I was also not a fan of a 3-part name, however in this case using the two middle names in honor of our family members seemed alright, and that no one really uses the middle name(s) anyways. Only shows up on the birth certificate and other legal documents hehe
My first attempt to say this came out Piper May Lousie....oops. But I think you have a good name. I especially like that May is spelled this way and not Mae.
I like all three names, just not sure I like them together. Piper just seems on a different plane than May & Eloise... For me it would be like combining "Elizabeth Anne Sunshine" as a more extreme example. I'm struggling with similar issues with the current front runner for our name.
PS - a friend of mine married a Fry. He's from the midwest and the only "Fry" I've ever known.
Honestly when I first saw the name I said...ooo redneck. *not to be offended I grew up in WV * I understand May and Eloise are family names, but I am not a fan of this name. I don't think Piper Fry sounds good either.

I love Piper. I don't consider it orginal (Py'purh would be orginal--ick!), but I don't think it is trendy either. I am not a fan of two middle names in general and these two are hard to say one after another. If you end up having more children and another girl would she feel shafted not getting a historical family name if you used both here?

Thanks again, to everyone.

I love the unusual (not in a bad way) first name mixed with the 2 classic middle names.
Go for it!
