May be a dumb question.. but I'm assuming that Target sells winter outwear for newborns, and that it's just not out yet b/c it's still summer..? Peanut's due Nov. 3, so we'll need some cold weather items, but there isn't any so far at Target.
I am due in Oct, and I was worried about having enough winter wear, and trying to buy it in the middle of summer is really difficult....and then I found the magic of Burlington Coat Factory
I've seen some winter outwear on the Buy Buy Baby website but none in the stores yet. Looks like they're trying to clean out the summer stuff first because it's all on sale at the store
Winter clothes should be out in the next few weeks.
We bought a lot of our winter clothes from local consignment stores and a few different consignment sales that are just on a specific weekend. I actually ended up getting my dd a winter coat/hat/gloves for under 15 at one of the sales.
I would also recommend stocking up on heavy blankets. It is always nice to have a heavy blanket to tuck around the little one when they are in their car seat.
Winter stuff should be coming out in the next few weeks. For our Dec baby we were able start shopping middle to late Aug. Just stay away from the Bundle me (they are not safe to use and can void your warrenty for the car seat). Target, walmart and babies r us carry a shower cap style cover. My daughter was a dec baby and lived in sleepers with a onesie under for most of the winter. I also did long sleved shirts with pants then cover on top of the car seat. Unless we were out side for long periods of time we did not use jackets.
Coats aren't even necessary when they are that little. Just invest in a JJ Cole Bundle me and put them in regular clothes with a blanket over them, and then the bundle me works the same. I have read that coats for infants are dangerous anyways.
A bundle me is more dangerous then a coat unless the coat is really thick.

Ditto. I'm getting something like this, which goes over the car seat and won't interfere with the straps.
My daughter would love the one for the convertible car seat. We are always having to fix hers because it falls all the time. I may have to get that for her. I had not seen that site before.

We used a cover like this for our first

But will be switching to this cover this time around. We will be spending lots of time at the park so I fell this one would work best for us.
