Piper?

Opinions on the name Piper for a girl...I didn't like it at all and my fiance really liked it...but now it's kinda starting to grow on me.

We were thinking maybe the name Piper Elizabeth.

Any middle name suggestions are also welcomed.

It's cute, I like the mn too.

I do know one little girl about 5 years old with that name. It is an unfortunate choice for her though, because her last name sounds like Patrick. The two names just don't go together, makes me think of Peter Piper and his peck of pickled peppers.

  • We keep booting it off our list, but I think it's a cute name ...

  • I love the name Piper and I think Piper Elizabeth is a great choice Smile
  • I think it's really cute and Piper Elizabeth sounds good together.  My only concern would be how well Piper would age.
  • I have mixed feelings about Piper... I definitely think it's cute for a baby/little girl, I just have a hard time not stereotyping the name beyond that. I feel like an adult named Piper wouldn't be taken seriously... I wouldn't use it, but it is cute.

  • i love the name piper. it's cute!

i would definitely pair it with a feminine and traditional middle name to balance it out. piper elizabeth would be great :)

  • I have always loved the name (Thank you, Charmed) but Sarah Palin ruined it for me.  And it's brought up a few times a week on this board, so it's clearly becoming popular.

  • I like it. I have since the series, Charmed. It says spunk to me, so Elizabeth is a good balance.

Huh, cause I was thinking that I hardly ever see it on here. Must be different times of day.

ETA: Okay so I checked SSA, and it seems Charmed (1998) had an influence because it broke into the top 1000 in 2000 and made giant leaps the first two years. It's still making a steady climb (currently at 147 probably because of Sarah Palin), but it's not a Madison, Harper or Grace by any means.
