Can you use Lotrimin and Triple Paste together?

DS has a nasty diaper rash and I think I read somewhere that Desitin is great for prevention but not for treatment.  I'm not sure if it's yeast or not, but I figured this couldn't hurt to try.  I just don't know if I can use the two together or not.  Should I just use the antifungal and see, or should I use the two together?  It looks like DS has one spot (very tiny) where the skin is broken.  That's the only reason I'm thinking to use the Triple Paste (or A&D ointment).

TIA!

  • Yep, it worked like a charm when Adam had yeast.

  • YES! I'm a pediatric derm PA...you def. need an antifungal cream (like Lotrimin) b/c yeast colonates in the diaper area within 24 hours of a rash...and you need a barrier, like Triple Paste, so that's perfect! Use every diaper change, no baby wipes, just warm water and mild soap.

  • yep...put the lotrimin on first to treat the yeast area and then triple paste all over to act as a barrier on top.
