At my baby shower DH's aunt got me a hospital bag. It included the carry-on bag, a comfy (and big) night gown, a mini toothbrush kit, some chapstick, some hair ties, some slippers, a hair brush and other items that I cant remember now. I thought it was neat and one of the most thoughtful and useful gifts that I received that day.

I'm not sure how much you are planning on spending, but I always love gift certificates! If you know her favorite restaurant, store, etc. I think that would be a nice touch. Or if you are spending more, maybe a gift certificate for a prenatal massage? or mani and pedi?

Love this idea! I got my friend a nightgown, lounge pants, and a matching robe from target, all in extra large so they would be comfy and fit over her postpartum belly at the hospital. I chose a nightgown that would be easy to move aside for nursing. Those are the things that make you feel human again after going through child birth, but not all women prioritize getting themselves something like that. You could also do a google search for nursing gowns and nursing lounge wear. Some companies make some really nice ones, and that might be a nice gift for a new mama to have (if she's planning on breastfeeding).

does she like starbucks? maybe she has been waiting for baby to be born to go back to caffeine and has been craving something from there?
