So I got am obvious BFP, on a hpt, on Monday, I went to a local clinic today, who gives free pg test, and it came back negative? ugh, I know I am almost a week late, my tracking and charting, and everything is telling me that I am pregnant! Has this happened to anyone else?
Re: + hpt, - Dr test?
It was a pee test, which mind you, I was extremely nervous, and shaking, and I barely got any pee out of me, and I had been drinking a lot of water right before we went, due to the fact that I was so nervous!
I'm just freakin' myself out!
It was a pee test, which mind you I was way nervous, I was shaking, and could barely get any pee of out me. Plus I had been drinking a lot of water right before hand, due to the nerves..
I got 3 + hpt and I went in a few days later.... and barely got a line from the health clinics test. but of course they said a line is a line
(I think it was also from them having a less sensitive test, and my test were first morning pees, this was mid afternoon after drinking water all day)
If you drank a lot of water before the test or within hours before the test, it can make the test wrong. Drinking a lot will dilute your pee and will not give an accurate result. It says this on the instructions for testing. No worries.
I know it. We tried for two years before I got pregnant. I can't tell you how many pregnancy tests I've taken that were all negative. Be glad you finally got a positive, as true false positives are extremely rare. I keep telling myself that even if things don't go as I hope for, at least I know I CAN get pregnant after so long of thinking I couldn't even get this far. Stay positive, girlie! Best wishes.
Same exact thing happened to me with DD. I guess they just weren't squinting to see the line like I was
I did end up testing positive when they did the blood test though. I wouldn't worry about it, from what I hear + on a hpt and - at the doctors office is not that uncommon. I seem to remember reading something about this on peeonastick.com when I was PG with DD.
Did they do a blood test? That should clear it up.
This happened to me with this pregnancy. I went to my office, and the MW told me it happens all the time because their tests can be less sensitive and I had betas drawn. Obviously, I was pregnant.
