I'm sure everyone got the email from Planning Family but if you didn't then you can buy Udder Covers for free since they cost $32 and you get a $32 discount by typing Family2010 in the promo code.  Then you have to pay the $9.95 shipping charge only.

I see new codes for free covers all the time, how in the world can they afford to keep doing this?

They charge 9.95 for shipping, it does not cost that much to ship those things

because they are really poor quality and NOT worth even $9.95, they are making their money on the shipping not the covers

It's always the promotion.  Their covers are cheap, so they're still making money.  Plus they've been known to sell CC info.

Besides; they do make money off S&H. Look at a package you recieve when you buy online- the rate they pay is a lot of times less than half of what you paid them to ship it.

Because the covers dont really cost $32.  They price the covers high and always offer the free code so people buy from them because they think they are getting a deal.

Okay that makes much more sense!  They look so cute on the models but that's sad that they are poor quality.

I have a cover that I got from another source but it cost me $5 and is cheap but I don't care.  Other than that I'm getting a few made from a friend and may make some myself, it's super easy!  So I won't be buying another anyway.

FWIW: If you make your own there are lots of free patterns out there but my friend is making them with velcro instead of a buckle thing since it's easier to do with one hand.

I don't know but I took advantage of it way before I got pregnant.  I knew this would be a life saver for me since I was never really good at hold a blanket over me and LO.

I did it a few weeks ago and got it in. It's not poor quality, it's very fashionable and I didn't have any problems with them. It's $10.00, so what if they are making money off the S&H... every place that you order from online makes more money off shipping and handling. That's what the handling charge means. I'm happy with it and they are very trendy. I haven't seen another one that's cheaper and looks as nice. I know they say it's "Free" and they make some money off of it in s&H, but they should. It's worth the $10.00

They're cheaply made, they jack up the shipping, and there are SOME people out there paying full price, or buying more than one.

I ask myself that same question. I have read about the CC issues, but they have an A rating with the BBB and they accept Paypal (which I used). I got the gift set which comes to $15 with shipping after the coupon. For a cover, 3 sets of washable breast pads, and this little nursing bracelet thing (that looks pretty cool) I think $15 is a great price. None of it seems like particularly  poor quality to me. The cover is made in China and the fabric is lightweight, but that doesn't seem worse to me than any other MIC product.

To answer your question: I don't know. Maybe the shipping thing, maybe they get some follow-up business with the other things they sell.

And they overcharge for shipping.
