when did you give baby carrots somewhat unsupervised?  this is one food that just scares me to death, but Marion loves to eat cooked "horsey food" and I think carrots would make a great snack, especially with this dip.

But it brings out the scared mama in me

I always cut baby carrots and hot dogs lengthwise twice before giving them to her.  That way it's not a perfect circle when she bites into them, more like a matchstick size.  It wasn't until she was about 4 1/2 that I stopped doing that becase she was chewing and sitting still enough that it didn't scare me anymore.
