I just had my annual work review and my boss was clear that the upcoming year will be challenging (we have a new major product launch) and, so long as I step up to the challenges and lead us to success, I'll be in for a promotion and salary increase.

Umm. These things don't happen at my company. Never once has a woman been giving the opportunity to lead and step into a true managerial role. And salary increase? Yeah, last year they docked everyone 5-15% across the board, and that was following 4 years with no pay raises.

And. Of course...

I just found out I'm KTFU. And the major product launch will be about 3 weeks before I'm due.

Ugh. 

I have no idea what this means. Other than I want to cry.

Because a salary increase would mean the WORLD to us as far as Larry being a SAHD. Like, it'd go from "wow, that's going to be skinny" to "wow, we can actually do this!"

I just need to hold it together and tell myself that I can do this!! I worked through my entire last pregnancy and came back and got right into the swing of things. I can do this! I can do this! Right?

It sounds like an amazing opportunity and yes, you can definitely do this!!  Another thing to think about too, is that while it may not be ideal, there may be the possibility of working from home while on maternity leave so that you aren't out of the swing of things for too long.  Again, not ideal because you want to be doing everything possible with your new little one, but you seem like the type of person that does whatever it takes, so this may be a way to appease the management to not look you over!  Hang in there, you can do this!!!

Of course you can do it.  You're super woman!  I'm sure that since it means so much to you, that you will be able to have the energy for it.  Just take it one day at a time.  At least it seems like the timing will work out and you will have the project finished by the time the baby is born.

Wow, congratulations!  You can definitely do it.  You've obviously already figured out how to be awesome at your job after having one baby, so you will no problem figuring it out again when the time comes!
