Just an random question I was asked today by my sister in law. I am thinking about having three. How many kids do/did you want? Why do/did you want that many?
We have always said three, but we'll see. This may be the last one, or maybe we will have two or three more. DH and I are just taking it one at a time.

I used to say 3 or 4 and now I say 2 or 3. I'm leaning more towards 3 but we don't even have #2 yet so I'm sure my opinion could change. I am an only child and my H is the oldest of 7 (between multiple marriages). I always saw myself with multiple children and right now I think that 3 is the maximum that we would be able to handle and/or afford. If we were to win the lottery or something, things could change.

I have one stepdaughter and two birth children...I really thought after DD I would be done but I am longing for another baby, I am trying to get over it! LOL

We first thought 4 then after the first we thought 1 was enough. Now we have 3 and I'm pretty sure we're done. But are seriously considering becoming foster parents at some point.
I wanted 5-6 kids....my dad came from a big family & I really like big families. I ended up with 4 with a 14 yr age difference between the last 2.

Probably no more than 2, although I haven't ruled out adopting a 3rd at some point. Actually, if I can't get pg in a short amount of time with #2, we might try to adopt #2.
I am NOT a fan of pregnancy...like at all. The first one was bad enough.
I have 3 & I want at least 4...We're not doing anything as far as BC other than half-assed NFP/P&P-we'll see how many we'll squeak out during the rest of my fertility--I'm 34 now. We have room for 8 I figure--2 per bedroom--LOL...and if I don't end up getting pg again (& even if I do)--chances are we'll adopt too down the road. Why--I guess I've always wanted a big family--I came from one & really loved the whole big family lifestyle--we have the resources & ability--my kids are spoiled enough, I can't imagine if I'd only had one--it'd be bad (none of DH nor my 7 siblings have any kids or any even close to having any). And if you know me you know I don't do anything in moderation & really like a challenge )
We are thinking 3 children. We have one and are ttc the second. DH loved growing up with his two siblings, and we just feel like three is the perfect number. It makes sense with what we feel we can handle mentally and financially.
this is me. heck i'm not sure if it is even the # 3 I'm after, it's just the want more children desire whacks me in the head when i least expect it. but, alas, i should've started 10 years earlier.
Originally we both wanted 3. When we found out we were pg with #2 when L was only 4 mnths old (would have been around 13 months apart) we decided that 2 would do. Then we found out #2 was a BOGO deal so alas 3 was what we got. It felt right, we were ecstatic, couldnt haven been happier.
Then once the girls were around 6 months dh mentioned having #4 once these 3 were all school age maybe say 7-8. L is 5 and K&K are 4. I could deff. see us with another baby once dh finishes school and we buy a house. If we are super lucky #4 could easier be 4&5 since the chances of having twins goes up after having 1 set, add in my age by then would be 30+ and would have a rather high change of twins again. Wouldnt mind a bit.
Always planned to have 2. I grew up with just 1 sibling and just always pictured myself with the same type of family. DH swore he would not have any kids after he turned 40 so we only had time to have 2. Bought house, car, etc. based on this plan - Ended up with an extra blessing. Our lives have been turned upside-down and it's a real financial struggle, but I couldn't be happier
Always wanted at least 2, wasn't so sure about #3 after #2 was born, but DH really wanted #3. TTC #3 since 11/09, had a m/c and TTC for a bit after that, but I think we're done with 2. We're all getting older and it's getting easier to stop where we are.
I always said 2, and we have 2. But we're both kind of feeling like maybe we want 3. We'll see! No plans right now to have a 3rd, but we're going to start talking about it in a few months.
Re: How many kids do/did you want?
2, and we've got them.
Long list of reasons... age, finances, don't want to be outnumbered, etc.

I wanted, and got, 2 boys.
We are done.
Sometimes I think I'd like to have a third boy, but then I see how frazzled I am by the end of the day and I forget that thought. Plus, H is fixed.

I was always ok with only one (im an only child) but dh wanted a 2nd so we agreed, now he/we go back and forth as far as the 2nd. we will see.,

Considering the troubles we are having getting pregnant, I will be happy with 2.
