Booster seat for big toddler?

DS is still in his highchair, but it's time to move him to the table. He's not big enough to just sit on the chair, but he is a pretty big kid and I'm worried that he'll be too big if I just order one online. What booster seat do you use and how big is your DC?

  • We use this one for DD. She is a big girl also - was 33.5 lbs & 36" at her 2 year checkup.

  • We have a wooden one from Ikea that DS uses.  It's like a high chair without arms or a tray, or like a barstool with a back, if you want to think of it that way.  But it's kid sized.  You can't strap him in, but that hasn't been an issue for us.  It's the perfect size for him to sit up at the table with us and since there's nothing to restrict him on size, we'll be able to use it until he's big enough to sit in a regular chair.

  • We kept my son in his high chair until he was a bit older than 3.  However, we did pull the tray off and lower the chair one setting so that he would be able to sit up at the table.

Will your high chair work as a booster seat with the tray removed?

  • I've been using the highchair at the table for a couple days now, but it doesn't fit up under the table, so I can't push him in very far. I just ordered this one from Amazon.com. I think this will give him room to grow.Prince Lionheart BoosterPOD
