Yet another carseat/booster ? Sorry

So, we have 2 graco Nautilus seats. We are thinking about trying my 5 yo in the high back booster portion of the seat. Does this mean the seat will no longer be anchored to the car? Does the seatbelt just hold the seat in place and that is it? Maybe a dumb question, and I suppose I should read the manual.

From my understanding, yes.  You are not to use the LATCH anchors in the booster mode......so just the seatbelt around child in booster.

Note: Your vehicle's manual may state a set weight limit for its LATCH anchors (40 or 48 lbs). For use with children above this weight while still in the 5-point harness, the seat must be installed using vehicle seat belts. As a backless booster, use only the vehicle lap and shoulder belts to secure both child and seat. You may install the seat with LATCH or seat belts for both the harnessed seating configuration and the high back booster mode; however, you cannot use LATCH to install the Nautilus as a backless booster.

** Just found this on a Graco site.  Maybe you could call Graco specifically and ask to get a positive answer.  

I need to check my vans manual and see about if it has a weight limit for the latch or if I need to install with the seat belt. Im hoping for no limit.  I really like using the latch.  SO much easier to get a tight and secure install.  Im guessing from the info above as a HIGH back booster you can still use the latch as long as your car doesnt have a limit or your child hasnt hit that limit.

Some boosters install with latch, too. It does provide added stability, especially in a side impact crash. The nautilus does allow it in high back mode. To my knowledge, there is no weight limit for latch used in booster mode--it's not actually restraining the child in any way, just stabilizing the seat.
