Huh?

Hi Everyone.  I'm new here and was wondering what the luteal phase length is/means.

Hey! I'm by no means an expert and I'm sure someone else could explain it a lot better, but the luteal phase is basically just the time period after ovulation but before your period starts, like the second half of your monthly cycle. The average luteal phase length is 14 days but not every woman's is. A too short luteal phase can cause problems when ttc. Hope I helped, even a little! Look for more information on the ttc boards.

The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and menstruation. It needs to be long enough to allow the egg to fertilize, travel down the Fallopian tube, and implant in the uterus to keep you from getting your period. A borderline luteal phase is 9-10 days. Ideal is 12-14 days.
