early intervention family participation fees set to triple

I am not a regular here, I live in Western MA, and that board never really took off, anyway I work for an EI program and we just heard about a large rate increase.  Just an FYI that if your LO receives EI, the family fee will be going up.  If you were already in the no fee category, there is no fee, but other fees will triple.  If you are in the highest bracket instead of $275 for 6 months itll be $775.  This will be in effect statewide (MA) sept. 1.  If your plan is due soon, be sure to get a new one signed before 9/1  !!

Wow - thanks for the head's up.  My son is receiving EI for speech and he is being re-evaulated in September.  His EI specialist believes he will test out of the program due to his amazing progress since the spring, but there's a chance that he won't. $775 is going to be steep for the next six months, especially since I'm expecting baby number two this fall, am self employed and won't be getting paid for my maternity leave!
