I've been doing some research on Clomid success rates and the consensus seems to be that 40% - 50% of women will conceive within 6 months of Clomid use.
So basically I have AT BEST a 50% chance of being pregnant by January 2011. That is not hopeful at all to me.
What's most frustrating is these websites all also say "Clomid is the fertility treatment with the highest success rate."
I'm feeling so hopeless.
Re: I find this extremely discouraging.
I'm also frantically trying to figure out ways to "make the most" of my Clomid cycles.
I want to maximize my chances because my doctor only wants me to do 4 cycles. I only have 3 cycles left now, so I feel like each one is "precious" and I want to do everything I can to make everything perfect.
Sofucking stressful.
Statistics are like a drunk with a lamppost: more for support than illumination.
40-50% would make it the highest success rate. The odds of conceiving naturally are 15-20%. The odds with IUI are, I dunno cause I don't do IUI. The odds with IVF average out to about 30%.
I think they're comparing apples and oranges though. This is all "generally speaking" and the stats aren't really comparing the same thing. Also, we know Clomid makes you O. Some women don't O *even on Clomid.* I'd guess that they are the 50-60%.

Colinda the wise has spoken beautifully again.
Numbers are numbers and just that. Each of us responds different to medications and we all have different reasons as to why we are on them. I would not worry about the statistics. Just continue to keep yourself healthy and stress free...like that is easy...I know.
Also...you said you only have 3 more rounds left...is there a plan after that? I don't want to discourage you but we did 5 rounds of clomid with IUI which were unsuccessful but then moved on to IVF. Good Luck with everything and try to stay positive.
Not really. My doctor said he only likes to do 4 rounds of Clomid (with TI) b/c he "rarely" sees women have success with Clomid/TI after 4 unsuccessful attempts.
DH "isn't ready" to move on to other treatments yet, so we're at a standstill if this doesn't work. DH actually think I'm "rushing into" Clomid (it's been 19 months....all of it erratic/late ovulation). He think I'm just being impatient. So if Clomid doesn't work.........?
I'm sorry your DH is feeling this way. Mine did as well. He thought that if we just kept trying that it would happen. But after 2 years of it just not happening I basically made him come with me to the RE. After our first loss he wanted to take a break and try on our own again. Same thing after we lost the twins. In January I told him I was ready and he asked me to wait...and I did. In June...he asked me to schedule our next IVF round. So now he is ready and more involved than I could ever imagine. I know it stinks but hopefully your DH will come around. I know it took some time for mine to but he did.
I hope that this works though and you don't even need to worry about it. You have only finished 1 round...still 3 to go and I have tons of friends that got pg on clomid in the first couple of rounds. It will happen. ((hugs))
Only a 7dpo progesterone check. My doctor said he (and the other 2 in the practice) don't monitor on 50 mg, only 100 mg and up. I was fine with this for one or two cycles, but I might ask for monitoring if I have to go to 3 or 4 cycles.
(I'm assuming my dosage won't increase since I Oed on 50 mg at 15DPO)
This is the single best line I've ever, ever, ever heard.
Also, I agree.
