Pregnant after a Loss

I have a very TMI Vag question

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this, because I have never had a yeast infection (or at least never known) so I wondering if this is what it is?

I noticed when I wiped this morning it hurt the outside of my vaginal area, its also irritated looking. It does not hurt when I pee, nor do I have any additionally abnormal discharge (other than what I have during pregnancy) nor any odors.

Now I am wondering if this could be a yeast infection or if maybe I just irritated it? I just got back from a scenic driving vacation that invovled a lot of sitting and use of public toilets (ugh)? I feel it hurt a little when I do a kegal (the outside skin of my vagina only)

Since its already 9pm on Friday my drs office is not open again until Monday for me to call and ask.

Re: I have a very TMI Vag question

  • Every time I've had a yeast infection I don't have any discharge, I'm just very red and irritated and uncomfortable (and occasionally itchy). Is there an on-call doctor you could ask?

  • hmm I don't know, I've had one yeast infection in my life (not to jinx myself) but that doesn't sound like it.  Maybe call your dr...sorry :(

  • Hmm, I think that the outside area is usually irritated, and that there is some itching involved.  I've only had one or two that I know of.  I don't remember a lot of extra discharge involved.

They do make an at-home test kit (Vagisil), but I'm not sure how accurate it is.  It's based on vaginal pH.

  • I've had them before and they always involve a lot of itching! I would call your doc either way because they may treat them more seriously when you're pregnant.

  • You may not have an internal yeast infection, but some yeast on the outside which will be soothed by vagisil.  I don't know if it is safe during pregnancy so you should probably still call the doc.

  • 1st off, I am impressed you can still see your vag! I havent seen mine unassisted in a while. I agree with everyone else- red itchy is it. Get it checked. good luck.
