RE Office Vent

My RE's nurse just called to schedule my betas for Monday morning.  She informed me that I will not receive results from the first beta - at all.  Nadda, zip, zilch.  I was like.. "UM...WTF??" (Yeah, I literally said fvck to a nurse on the phone and am now hanging my head in shame).

Then my second beta is on Wednesday and I won't get the results until late in the day or Thursday morning.  They have a policy that they don't release beta numbers unless it doubles from the first day... so that means no first beta results at all.

I told DH that I am going to the VA hospital after the RE's office and telling them that I think I am pregnant on Monday and having them run a blood pregnancy test on me.  My doctor there will do whatever I want him to do because I am his only female patient and he is terrified of "womenly things".  Every time I have gone to the VA for a blood pregnancy test I had results within a couple of hours.  Betas there take a little longer, but they call back with a positive or negative very quickly.

Am I crazy for going behind my RE's back and doing that?

That's crazy!  The wait would drive me insane!  I don't know much about IVF yet, but can you use HPTs?

ETA:  Oh, I would definitely go to that other hospital if I needed to!

if you have the means to check through another dr then I would absolutely do it!  That RE is crazy.......

I would be annoyed also, I can't believe they hold the results that long.

I agree too - I would be out of my mind.  If your VA doc is willing to do it then go for it.

I would totally do that. Thats just crule of your REs office.

I would do that too.  So, would they not tell you if you have a CP?  Or they just won't tell you the exact numbers?  That just seems wrong to me, but maybe I'm not getting it.

I couldn't handle waiting.  Maybe you show up and sweet talk them with some baked goods?  I'm not sure how the VA clinic will respond if you show up with a band-aid from a blood draw, and ask for another.  They might think you're crazy, but probably worth it  Good luck, I can't wait to see your BFP!

um, it's your bloodwork. they must release it to you. must. um, by law.

that said, if it will drive you nuts (which, it would me), I would POAS and/or get a beta drawn if you have the means.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I have a legal right to know the results of my own blood test.  Their argument is that they aren't going to keep them from me forever, they will give me the results... on Thursday.  I could call and raise a big stink about it but I will just go get it done at the VA.  It all just seems ridiculous to me.
