we shared our boys names a couple months ago with family...we didn't with ds because my MIL is such a drama queen and we didn't want to hear about how she didn't like his name.
This time around, we decided...who cares and shared their names, Jakob and Kaleb. We changed the 'c' to 'k' because my dh is Polish and with the names spelled with a K, they sound the same pronounced in both languages.
LOL here is your laugh for the day....mil has pouted and complained ever since that she doesn't like the names, so she made a list of names SHE likes and gave to dh, who promptly laughed and told her to mind her own business (YAY dh!)
had to share....crazy lady!
Re: lmao....mil made a list of names!
I love Jakob and Kaleb. DH vetoed Caleb for us, but I still love it.
I'm curious what HER suggestions were!
This! What a crazy lady!
My dad's mom kept trying to push her favorite boy name on my parents when they were expecting my little brother. My mom said to her, "You had two sons -- why didn't you use it for YOUR boys?"
My MIL keeps mentioning that she likes Olivia, Hannah, and Lily better than Elizabeth.. I had mentioned that Hannah and Abigail (dd's name) are both hebrew (we're jewish) and she goes, "oh and then you'll have elizabeth just thrown in there!" Sooo annoying!!
I love Jacob and Caleb... such cute names!

Sounds like something my MIL would do! When DH and I got engaged and picked out rings, DH showed her the ring we'd picked for him. She emailed me the next day to tell me that she didn't like the ring, and if I was still able to take it back to the store, she had one picked that she liked that she would love to show me. I politely declined. Crazies.
Anyway, I think Jakob and Kaleb are great names! Congrats!
ugh....that is unreal
props to DH!!!
That is one of the reasons we didn't tell anyone the names we had decided on until the boys were born. I can only imagine the craziness that would have erupted.
hmmm.. sounds familiar.
Mason's middle name is Christopher (which is my father's first name) and she said, "eww I don't like that" and then went on with name suggestions..
That's crazy and sounds like my MIL and FIL. They hate hate HATE the name Gia that my SIL picked out for her daughter. She just said w/e and let's it slide and pays no attention to my MIL (go her! lol)
However, I get the comments from other people in the family (aunts, etc) who say "The girls won't be able to spell their names until they are 21" or "are you going to call them Val and Grace for short? It would make it easier" We are going with Valentina and Graziella (Italian for Grace)
Some people....geesh
Why do MILs (even the most fantastic ones in the world) turn into crazy people when it comes to grandkids? What a nut!
The names are adorable. And kudos to DH for just standing up to her.
