anyone have a double combi stroller?

My mom has the single combi and it seems to be a decent lightweight stroller.  I was thinking about buying the double because it is reasonably priced and lightweight compared to a lot of doubles that I have looked into.

love it/ hate it/ what are your thoughts?  tia!

Re: anyone have a double combi stroller?

  • We have it. Overall, I am happy with it.

The only issues I have with it are (and you may already be aware of these since your mom has the single):

    - The basket underneath is pretty much useless. It is so narrow (and has a long bar running through it) that not much of anything (except maybe their jackets) can fit under there. We just bought some of these stroller hooks for things if needed, and luckily, my diaper bag strap is wide enough to go over the whole thing, so that isn't an issue.

    - Depending on the day, the boys fight constantly. This isn't specific to this stroller, just to any side-by-side I would have chosen. They steal each other's toys, snacks, drinks, etc. so some days I wish I would have gone with a tandem (even though I find them a pain in most instances).

    -  The cup holders are not very deep at all, so they are constantly knocking their cups out. We just got sippy cup straps that we love and use sometimes though.

    - Lastly, I'm a little concerned about how long it is going to last us. I think it will last us until we don't need a double stroller anymore, but as you can see from this picture, my oldest already looks pretty huge in it! (and excuse the pajamas from the late evening walk :) ) ...

Okay so the whole post was negative, but I really do like it, especially for the money! It is lightweight, easy to fold, steers well, seats recline, etc.

  • I love it! I do agree w/ a lot of what pp said, but after looking at a million strollers and weighing the cost and how often and what we use it for, I decided there was no perfect stroller but this one comes pretty close for our needs.

I do have to say that I've found the basket holds a lot more then I thought it would. Not my diaper bag, but I use hooks for that; no big deal ;) The basket is perfect for day trips at the zoo. I can fit a largish lunch bag in there w/ food for the 3 of us, + my DSLR camers + sweaters or jackets for all of us, and a few water bottles, and my Ergo. And I like that while there is a bar in between, you can still easily move stuff from one side to the other. When DD2 is sleeping and reclined, I can't take stuff out w/out bumping her up. But I can just slide it over and remove it from under the other seat. If that makes sense??

Anyway, for the cost, it's a really great stroller IMO. It's so lightweight and easy to use and pushes well. I can push it 1 handed if I need to. I also have a Joovy Ergo Caboose and I like the Combi about a 100000xs better ;) for so many reasons..

  • I agree with pp. Also it does not glide as well as the higher end strollers but I guess you get what you pay for in this case. It also does not have a cup holder for you which I find really annoying. But again overall compared to others it does seem to be the best one in this price range.

  • thanks for your comments ladies, I feel much more confident about purchasing this stroller now!
  • i have a single and a double and really like them both.

keep in mind- it's an umbrella stroller - so having a huge basket, awesome parent tray, etc- is not what you should expect from an umbrella stroller at all.

overall - as an umbrella stroller, it's got some great features - at a decent price..... huge sun shades (very important for me)... a full recline... easy fold, stands on it's own- carrying strap... front belly bars (most umbrella strollers do not have)... etc.

If you want all those other features- you need a bigger stroller - and then you don't get the ease of the umbrella features --- so it's really all about what you truly want the stroller for.

We have the combi for quick trips, etc --- it's not a stroller I would bring for a long day at the zoo, or long walks in my neighborhood... i use my all-terrain stroller for that.
