And there are already several families on the wait list of the center I'm touring (on UC Davis campus) for the dates we'll be enrolling. I may end up back to work as early as 6 weeks after the birth, so I want to make sure to have things lined up before baby comes.

I toured the facilities of UC Davis (since I work here).  I like them, but I wished they would be more affordable for employees. They are really expensive.  I think it ran at least $1000 per month for infants until the age of 2.

I know, it is expensive. But we don't seem to have anything near our house, there seem to be a ton in the Sacramento suburbs, but nothing near Curtis Park or Land Park. 

Plus its really important for us to find a place that supports cloth diaper.

Good luck. We'll likely have my mom be our child care, but I've also considered Kids On Campus at SCU, but the waitlist for alumni is really long. ANd now that we're starting treatment and hopefully it will be successful sooner rather than later, I have thought about contacting them to see about their policies, etc.
