    I'm from Kansas!! :)

This made me chuckle, and I have no idea why. I've been to Kansas - Lee's Summit, and my wedding dress came from Kansas, and I've watched the Wizard of Oz.

Thanks for posting to FFFC - we love it when newbies join in!

And baby names - totally why I hang out on the naming board; it helps oddly enough. :)

My confession? I'm not much of a pet lover, and I would consider putting a cat down for this.

Haha well you probably saw most of Kansas then!! Not much there for sure, best thing was the wizard of oz...LOL

  • My DH is a horrible photographer.  Horrible.  When he uses my camera to take pictures of the kids playing in the yard, with the dog, in the car, etc - I look at them on the computer and want to delete each and every one of them!  OMG!  I know 'art' is subjective but he's not trying to take abstract photos, or even cool motion shots, he just points and shoots.  It drives me nuts and there's no reason why it should - all the pictures are digital - its not like we spend money on the film.  I'm not a fabulous photographer myself, but at least most of my shots are decent.  His - not so much.  lol

My other confession will probably be flamed but I just need to get it off my chest.  I got a raise this week and am really disappointed in the dollar amount.  My review was effing spectacular, probably one of the best I've ever received, but the raise was a joke.  I AM very thankful in this economy to have a job but at the same time, it just feels like I got slapped across the face.

I feel bad cause I dont want to get rid of him but its looking like my only choice and I will miss him and so will his litter mate.

I won't flame you for this.  I'm a HUGE cat person and it would be difficult for me to figure out what to do in this situation.

We had some friends who went through a very similar situation.  Their cat was maybe a year older than your cat and started having very serious litterbox problems.  They took him to the vet and found out there was nothing medically wrong with him, he just couldn't find the litterbox anymore and when he did, he missed.  He was a big cat, like yours, so they thought maybe he was just getting old and they put up with it.

About 6 months go by and the couple is getting more and more frustrated.  They finally decide that they're going to put him down, because they know full well if they take him to a shelter, he wouldn't be adopted and would probably be put down by strangers.  They did some research and found a guy, who was a retired vet, who's entire business was to put pets to sleep in their homes.

The couple had that done and they said later they were much happier because they didn't have to deal with the kitty's litterbox problems and they knew the kitty was happier, too.

Hopefully that story wasn't too much of a downer.  Sad

I think you are amazing and I'm totally envious that you've only gained 16lbs at 29 weeks. I had already gained 14 at my 22 week appointment and haven't been on the scale since. My midwife said that I was totally on track with weight gain and she wasn't concerned, but I am petrified every time I get on the scale at my appointments!
I also fear the scale. And I've seen your pics on FB, you are still one hot little mama!! Since I was a little fluffy pre-pregnancy my doc only wanted me to gain 20lbs total. That probably won't happen but I'm not stressing about it too much.

My DH is a horrible photographer.

It's funny - my DH *IS* a photographer - which is awesome (although the shot below is miine!)...but because of that we have NO decent family shots. He is always behind the camera. And timed photos do not work very well with kids. I have threatened paying for a pro-session (we have never gone anywhere) and he said it goes against everything in his body to pay someone else. But hello? I want some family shots before G is no longer a baby - which is happening way too fast!

MY FFFC...I am wearing total granny panties today - I'm talking thick, high-waisted, tummy-control granny panties. They are starting to chaffe a bit, but it's worth it cause I've gotten a ton of compliments on my summer dress today! Yes

I secretly hate going out in public without the baby.  I feel like if I have the baby with me, people will realize that's why I'm fat, because I just gave birth.  When I'm out on my own, I'm just a fat chick.  This is so stupid, I thought I'd worked through my body issues a long time ago and was so proud of what my body could accomplish.

    Ditto to ALL of this!

  • Not flame-worthy nad not exactly a confession, but more like a follow up - I just started my period, so sessy time didn't do anything (happy and sad). I just wish it could have waited one more day.

I had to cancel my spa day today because it showed up one hour before I was supposed to go. Blah.

Almost every day, I get asked when we are going to try for #3, I hadn't really sat down to think about it because life's great with 2 right now. If we were to have #3, we'd have to get a new car plus babysitting/dinners/vacations would be even more $$. With that being said, I have quite a few friends pg with #3 right now and it's beginning to give me the "fever" ....I hadn't even thought to look at baby names ever since Norah was born, but now I find myself taking note of certain names I hear. I had ideally thought that it would be nice to start trying when Norah is 3.5ish so she'd nearly be in preschool and the baby and I could chill together during the day, but the more I tell people, the more they tell me that Jacob (who would be 6 years older) would have "quite a stretch in age differences" I know ultimately it's up to us, but I can't stop thinking if maybe 6 years is too far apart, after all Jacob and Norah will only be one year apart in school and if we were to have a baby when I was thinking, it would just be in Jr. High as Jake is graduating high school.

(sorry, not really a ffc more just a rambling Wink)

The difference between my older brother and younger brother is six years and they've turned out just fine :-) My older brother understand the "caring" part of it, while I (who's three years from both in the middle), had the more selfish attitude. I didn't like someone stealing my spotlight ;-)

I hate when people ask/tell me its time for baby #2. I'm just starting to get used to the idea and thought of it. I don't mind when its close friends and they're genuinely curious, but the people who do it just because they're meddling - I want to toe kick in the face!

I judge people who cannot make their status updates slightly grammarically correct and who spell words incorrectly. It bothers me. I'm not talking about there/their.  But this is an example:

Y do people find it necisary to lie to my children??? I really really want to say more but for the sake of MY children I won't!!! There are just some issues to big for them to be around!! And I am soooo saddened that they are having to go threw all this and not even realizing the damage that it is going to cause!!!

I know its only a couple of mispelled words, but this is how all of my one friends posts are.

this is soooooooo flame worthy and you will all hate me I am sure.

We have two cats. One we call budda. budda is well BIG, and I mean 28 pounds, so fat he cant scratch his own itches, kinda big.  the other one from the same litter is maybe 9 pounds.

Anyway budda has potty issues. has never been a "neat" cat and as he has gotten older its gotten worse. he poops in odd places all over the house. and we think he leaks pee. Our house is starting to smell bad from this.  we have taken him to the vet and there is nothing medically wrong with him that would be causing the pooping and peeing. he has a huge, clean litter box (its cleaned at least 3 times if not more a day) He is doing this for who knows what reason.

I cant take it anymore. he is 13 years old, and other than his obesity (which we have tried dieting on him for years, it dont work) and missing a tooth he is healthy for his age. He does have some back issues and srthritis because of his weight. We are contemplating having him put down. I cant take the mess and stench anymore. we dont have the money to replace carpets, I need to nip this in the bud before its gets to the point where thats our only option. I feel bad because I feel out of options. I dont want to send him to a shelter cause he is a timid cat and doesnt do well with other animals and strnage places. Nobody I know wants a cat that pees and poops everywhere, you even have to clean his butt cause he is that nasty! I feel bad cause I dont want to get rid of him but its looking like my only choice and I will miss him and so will his litter mate.

anyway. just venting my frustrations and I know this is totally flameworthy but please be kind. I truley do love my cats but just cant deal with them anymore.

Ok... so I can totally relate to this one. My cat is 11 and she has a bum leg and she keeps pooping outside of the box. The dog spooked her and she peed in out room and we had to pull everything out and clean the carpet. It never smelled the same. I swear she's been peeing in there again. It is frustrating to no end. I keep thinking she is going to die soon. I love her but between her and the dog, I can't keep up.

Jen - you and I are on the same page.  My midwife originally said she only wanted me to gain 15-25 lbs, and as of yesterday's appointment, I've gained 10.  She didn't seem to care too much, but it freaked me out!

Heather, you are one of the teeniest, cutest, pregnant lady I've ever seen!  I bet even if you gained 30 lbs with your pregnancy, you'd be around my pre-pg weight...

But did that stop me from eating a croissant this morning?  no.  I have no willpower today.

Last night M took awhile to get to sleep, so I kept taking him back to bed.  When I went to go to sleep there he was asleep on my side, wth, why didn't you take him back to bed if he came in our room?  I carried him into his room, only to have him come back about 3 hours later, I took him back.  Then I wake up at 4:30 to feed W and there he is asleep next to dh.  wth!  It's like trying to sleep train a 30 year old!

My sister has 3 kids and always has 1 of them in her bed:  When this happens she goes and sleeps in the bed of which ever kid is in her bed :)

I guess that's why they never had toddler beds andwent straight to twin or ful sized beds!

One of my best friends is coming to visit on Sunday from Kansas and I am so unmotivated to clean. Last time she was here, in 2009 for my baby shower, she commented multiple times on how our house is small and that she can't believe we only have one bathroom. Sorry, not all of us get to live alone for free (including the bills -- and they hired a landscaping service because she won't mow the lawn) in a house owned by our parents.

I normally would be on a total cleaning spree by now, but I am using Collin as an excuse to not do anything right now -- the guest room is a disaster and I don't want him picking stuff up and trying to eat hangers, etc. -- so I am waiting until he naps. But in reality, I just want to shove it all into the closet, shut the door, and go watch "Teen Mom."

I find that I do my fastest, most efficient cleaning when I have guests coming over in like an hour.  If I have loads of time and no one coming to see it...it never happens.  Tell me people are showing up shortly, and the place is spotless in a minute.

Plus, who can resist Teen Mom?!

LOL! Me, too.  But if my mom is coming over tomorrow, I'll stay up until 1 in the morning on the bathroom floor with a Qtip getting all the dust out of the corners.

All of this except if it were my mom I wouldn't even bother because she's going to find something that wasn't done right, so I just let her do it herself.

I'm about to get a huge promotion (like the kind you've been working your entire career towards), but all that makes me feel is more pressure. I have enough already, thank you. And while the money and title are nice (and travel will actually be somewhat reduced), it's scary.

Congratulations!  I know the feelings: This is what I've been waiting for so why so aprehensive?  Just tell yourself with the extra money you can bank it so you can quit if it gets to be too much!

I hope it turns out to be what you want it to be and not any of the mess.  Congrats!

I want to give you a huge hug right now because I was exactly in your shoes when Walter was <6 months.  I do believe "be good to your body and your body will be good to you" and I think your body will be good to you when you are ready to get back into shape, since you were good to it before you had K .  I also think that being a mother made me so much harder on myself than others were on me.  I felt like i was constantly being judged by other mothers/people and that included my body.

It took you 9 months to grow that baby, try to give yourself 9 months to get your body back and remember you have to put that baby first for awhile and you will get back into shape.  Hugs.
