making baby food using frozen BM

This seems stupid to ask but, if I thaw BM to make baby food, can I freeze the food?  Or does that count as refreezing BM?

I think it would be considered re-freezing and be a no-no.

So I was planning on freezing the puree's in just their natural form and adding BM to thin when we actually use it.

  • Not a stupid question. I'm thinking you can't do it b/c that is considered re-freezing.

Both PP are right. It is considered re-freezing (according to both kellymom.com and wholesomebabyfood.com). I just use the cooking water for all my purees. I use BM for cereal.
