Hi Ladies,
Sorry for the lack of intro - I'm coming over from 1st Tri with this question, cause I think you ladies might have some more experience with this.
I was prescribed Estradiol while on a Femara cycle cause when I was gearing up to O, the u/s showed that my follies were maturing, but my lining was falling behind. So the Estradiol sped up my lining and I guess I got PG. However, now I'm reading all this stuff about Estradiol being in Category X, and it's freaking me out. I'm going to ask my RE about it today (I go into the office in a couple of hours), but I just wanted to see if any of the other PAIF girls had any experience with this. My RE has said to keep taking it until 10 weeks. However, the bottle says "do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant". Google has revealed that Estradiol is a contraindicator for pregnancy, which may result in birth defects or cancer later in the child's life. Any reason why the RE would keep me on this? Can't help but freak out about it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Re: XP: Anyone taking Estradiol under RX by RE?
I was on Estrace (generic of estradiol) until I hit 12 weeks - everything is fine with the baby. Plenty of women require it and it is routinely prescribed by REs.
Anyone who does an frozen transfer from IVF would need artificial estrogen and progesterone because they wouldn't have a corpus luteum cyst to create it naturally.
I was also on it (2mg twice a day) until 12 weeks.
