Yea, that response (the one about getting rid of your husband) made me LOL! Seriously...what an ignorant, flippant comment.
Have fun at Target...I'm jealous!
Maybe she's the person who commented on it figured if he's this way already over a little kid and a swim lesson, he might be the kind of dad who belittles the crap out of the kid on the little league and punches out the ref.
Some of those overbearing dads and sports are a bad mix.
how about "I hope your husband gets in to an anger management class/therapy session" not, get a divorce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL that you are justifying that comment. At all.
about the swimming thing...my oldest WOULD be EXACTLY like your DS....except that she has a sister who is 15 months younger and is a daredevil. So I put them in lessons together knowing that its the only way my oldest would "seperate" from me...and seeing her sister jump and dunk her head would push her to do it too. They are about equal swimmers now...Tay actually has more confidence and jumps off the diving board in the deep end and swims to the side. Audrey is as good...just a bit more timid. So it will get better!
Does he have a good friend he could take lessons with?
Also, how much are you swimming with him outside of swim lessons? My kids learned a bit at swimming lessons, but it was the practicing outside with me that they really gained confidence, or could at least go back to swim lessons and not have to be re-taught.
Also---some people divorce for less than that....LOL....its a funny comment to think someone would think THAT is divorce-worthy...but hey, its America. People are disposable!
