(gosh thanks for remembering me luvbabes, that was nice; truly appreciated!!)
Some good...some not so good news:
She said not to worry about my progesterone level. AF is due today. So I have to have AF/not PG before they'll do the dye test HSG. We'll (DH) be getting SA and all the other blood work this cycle.
She did a regular SG. She said she saw eggs on the first ovary she scanned. I was feeling happy/normal. On the other side (left I think) there is a large walnut-sized mass. That's the bad news. It is most commonly endometrosis or a cyst. I was having a hard time listening as you can imagine. Only some of the info sticks as you know. She said it is very rare, unlikely but possibly the other (bad) C word. I have a feeling I have had it there a very long time ...so a cyst maybe. Still disturbing. But you only need one egg and one sperm. So whatever will be. I'll have to have laproscopic outpatient surgery to get that removed and examined. It's more information. Information is power. One step closer in the process.
Does anyone have any experience with this? endometrosis? cysts? Trying to stay calm and positive and not go into freakout mode.
Re: My first RE appt
I don't have experience with that either but I'll keep you in my prayers. Think positive and believe everything will work out.
I've never had a lap but want to wish you the best. I agree find out all you can and try not to freak -easier said than done, I know.
take good care
I've had both a dermoid (cyst) and polyps removed from my ovaries/ute. My cycles have been extremely irregular since I was young, so I had suspected something, but nothing was ever found. When we were considering TTC (and knowing my irregular cycles may make it difficult), my OB did an u/s and they found the dermoid. It was removed via laparoscopic surgery. It made little difference to my cycle. Two years later I began seeing my RE and she did an HSG which revealed polyps in my ute. These were removed vaginally via outpatient surgery. Suddenly cycles started to regulate (after 20 years!!).
I know it's easier said than done, but try and remain calm. I'm sorry that you have to go through this, but it's better to know these things now, treat them, and move on. You're right, you are now one step closer! Good luck!!
Thank you SOOO much for sharing your experience. I don't know yet what it is exactly but I have a feeling it has been there a long time. I've always had regular cycles but there has been some ouchy stuff going on that I would love to go away! I'm actually in a weird way looking forward to the surgery which I think will be in a few weeks. Again thanks I'll KUP

Unfortunately I have experience with this. I have had lap surgery twice to remove endometromia cysts. PM me if you have any questions.

I have had a cyst on my left ovary since before IVF #1. He has been drained twice and still comes back. My RE does not feel like he will cause any problems, he is not producing any hormones and seems to be just hanging out. We have even named him Fred and that is also how the nurses and such refer to him.
GL to you!
Fred!!??? I'm not sure I'm on such a friendly basis with mine just yet! Ha!!!
Thanks everyone!! and GL to you too -Pix
