By NO means do I consider myself a true runner, but I do enjoy it. I ran like 2 1/2 to 3 miles each morning for like a good month when DS was about 4 months old and dropped weight fast. I went from about a size 10 to a size 4---granted I'm not very toned and I also contribute a good bit of the weight loss to breastfeeding but, I was pleased with the results!
I'm trying to become a runner because I want to be skinny too (and fit, of course). However, I just upped my run from 2 miles to 3 miles and now I'm recovering from some rough shin splints. I think I'm going to have to do the C25K program to keep myself on measured distance/time increases instead of just trying to wing this.

I am NOT a runner, but I have completed 2 1/2 marathons...hey, 10 years ago but who cares. I am going to take it up again...already started this week. In the mood for the Disney 1/2 Marathon end of February? I might train with Team in Training to have a group to help me get out of bed for the long runs.
I know what you mean by runner's bodies though....
This C25k doesn't sound bad. I think i am gonna give it a whirl. Anyone want to do this with me. I will probably need some motivation! umm and I too miss Josie and well most of you. I can't believe the summer is almost gone and I didn't get to see too many of you! Boo!
I always think the same thing about runners and wish I could get into it! I feel so big already that I am alreday day dreaming of losing the baby weight. I might have to try the C25K after I have this baby.
And Josie - I saw you when I picked up C's cupcakes and you ARE skinny!
I'll probably start C25K next week. I'll probably jump into it at the three or four week point since I've been sort of doing it on my own without using the app. My first 5K is Aug 21st so I've got to hustle I'd love to do a progress check-in with you ladies though.

I started running because hated exercise. I figured if I had to do it, I would do what burned the most calories the fastest - more bang for the buck, so to speak. I have been addicted now for years. I used to dream about it when I couldn't do it.
I did C25K earlier this year, it works great! I had no problem running a 5K when I was only in about week 7 of my training. I have not run in a couple of months now, and while I have not gained any weight back I can definitely tell I'm not as toned as I was while I was running. As usual, I just need to find a good time of day to fit my run in...I am NOT a morning person, so we just have to get the boys down early enough for me to get out and do it.
But definitely, C25K was a major help in losing 25 lbs (I did WW at the same time).
I'll be doing C25K but not until November. I can't wait to start exercising again. This whole take it easy is killing me. Good luck to all you ladies starting it soon!!! You can do it!!!!
Re: Runners are skinny!
Whatever! Has anyone seen Josie lately? She looks great.
I would love to learn to run when I am back to exercising. Even if I don't get to be a size 2, just to be toned again would be nice.
I think you're the only one who gets to see Josie these days...she doesn't come around anymore! But I've always thought she looked great.

It torches some serious calories for sure. Good luck with the C25k plan!
