Does a frozen banana,

dipped in chocolate and nuts count towards my fruit serving?  I keep telling myself it is healthy Embarrassed

  • Is it dark chocolate? Because we're supposed to eat dark chocolate for heart health. I'm sure it's not the amount I choose to eat in one setting, but I'd rather be safe than sorry! lol

  • I bought a box of those last week at the store and I fully believe they count towards the fruit servings! And the chocolate contributes something towards the dairy requirement, right? :-)

  • I found a recipes for banana bites dipped in chocolate. You are a sign that I NEED to make them!! It's fruit, it's good for you!! Chocolate has antioxidants, so it's good too! Wink

  • A banana is a banana is a fruit...even when I was on WW, I counted the rare occurrence of french fries as a veggie. Is it the healthiest choice of veggie? Heck no, but a potato is still a veggie, deep fried or not!

    Actually, a potato counts is usually counted as a starch, not a veggie. Embarrassed Sorry...

    But a banana is still a fruit!

  • dark chocolate consumption by pregnant women has been linked to a reduced occurence of pre-e.  So if it was dark chocolate on that banana, even better!
