Hey everyone,
I've posted a few times, but have not formally introduced myself. I'm new here, but a regular on SAIF. I have a 19-month-old son, Cal, who was conceived using donor sperm. My husband has azoospermia, which is attributed to the chemo & radiation treatments he had as a child while battling cancer (Wilms Tumor). We knew going into it that he might have "issues" but were still shocked to find out after 6 months of TTC that he was completely infertile.
I am now pregnant with #2, conceived using the same donor. I am 5w 3d, but not ready to put up a ticker quite yet. I am AMA (41) and there are a lot of risks with this pregnancy, so I'm a little nervous. I was 39 last time (40 at delivery), so no stranger to the risks, but now being OVER 40 makes the negative statistics even greater. I don't think I'm being a pessimist, just a realist!
I still consider SAIF my home, but will be jumping over here for pregnancy conversations!
