insensitive comment of the day

My sister is currently visiting. I love her to death, and she has a lot of great character traits (loving, generous, always willing to help, etc.). However, she also has a big ole judgy streak and I swear is missing a sensitivity chip.

She's been here a grand total of one day and has already made the following comment, in a conversation about when I'm going back to work: "You know, I don't want kids, but if I ever have one, I wouldn't do it unless I could stay home with them. I don't see why people have kids if they're going to work. Why do it if you're giving your kid to someone else to raise? Just get a cat instead."

Thanks, sis. That really helps me feel better about leaving my boys in daycare, and magically fixes our finances so we can still pay our mortgage and all our bills without me working.
