TTC After a Loss

What do you think of this?

Because of my PCOS.. I rarely ovulate on my own. I got a positive OPK in the middle of July.. but with PCOS you can always get a positive than negative, than positive again.

My (o)(o) never hurt, even when I was pregnant they never hurt. but for the last few days they are dull pain, so I wondered if I had ovulated. (Test was BFN)

So I google like usual, " Does breast pain mean I ovulated"

I got this:

Location of Pain and What It Means

If your breast pain is on the sides of your breasts, this indicates that ovulation has occurred, according to Dr. Jerilynn Prior, a Canadian clinician, researcher and professor of endocrinology at the University of British Columbia. If the pain is in the front of the breasts or over the nipples, this indicates that estrogen dominance has occurred, which may mean the lack of ovulation. If a woman experiences pain both on the sides and in the front of her breasts, this can mean that ovulation occurred but an inadequate amount of progesterone was produced after ovulation so estrogen dominance is still occurring.

Re: What do you think of this?

  • I think this is an interesting read. I will be paying attention to the pain and location in the mammaries at the end of this month.

  • Interesting. Mine hurt the whole time while pg. Not just on the sides though. They hurt a lot before and during AF too. Hurt in the center, all over, etc.

So IDK where that puts me..

    .
  • Very interesting... My first "sighn" when I got my BFP was that my bewbs didn't hurt... They would typically be achey on the sides after I ovulated (true to the article you referenced). Where are you in your cycle?

  • Thank you for sharing this... I've wondered before what it meant... The description for low progesterone describes my experience... if only I'd read this 2 years ago- I would have had my doc check out my Prog. levels then! ;)

CD 30 today. But I don't know if I ovulated or not but my bbs have been tingly and the nips starting to hurt but it comes and goes.

  • That is all very interesting. I'll have to start paying attention, even though sometimes studies can show any pains we have mean anything. I don't really look too much into it.

  • V interesting.

I do have sharp stabbing pains sometimes, located behind the nipple, which would fall into line perfectly with my PCOS.

  • Very interesting.  Now I am trying to decide where my extreme pain a few weeks ago was coming from.  I think they hurt too much overall to differentiate.

I wonder how many of us are feeling ourselves up at this exact moment.

  • Before my BFP the sides of my boobs hurt... they had never hurt before AF though so that's interesting.

  • I don't know how much stock I'd put into that, being as breast tissue doesn't differentiate at different points in your boobs. That said, I'm the exception to that article's rule...the only place my boobs are tender is on top and I KNOW that I ovulated.

But they might be tender because I keep squeezing them to see if they hurt. After all that squeezing they sure hurt now! Stick out tongue
