I have a salsa recipe that I want to can and it calls for fresh cilantro. I cannot find it anywhere! I have been to the farmers market and 2 grocery stores. Can I substitute another herb for it? If so what? Or can I use dried? If so how much?
TIA

Are you sure it isn/t there? It is usually with the lettuces/parsleys and not with the other fresh herbs. I don't know of a substitute as it is a very distinct taste.
You could add some ground coriander if you can't find fresh cilantro because coriander is the seed from the cilantro plant. Not as pretty, but same/similar flavor.

I am positive. I even asked and they said they did not carry it!
Any ideas on using dried? I know that dried is 4 times more potent so I would need 1/4 the fresh amount.
