Success after IF

2nd time doing IVF

My daughter is almost 2 and we are starting to think of having another one. how far in advance would you recommend talking to the dr?

also, do the embroyo age over time?

anyone that did IVF a 2nd time and has any advise i would appreciate it.

Re: 2nd time doing IVF

  • You should start talking to the doctor when you're ready to move forward, whenever that is.

I'm not sure what you mean about do embryos age over time.  They don't age when they're frozen.  Is that what you mean?

If you've gone through IVF once, then you know what to expect the second time around.  I found it a lot easier since I knew the routine.  The only thing I had to work out was childcare.  GL

  • Yeah- what do you mean about the embryo?  If you have frozen embryo's that you're going to transfer, first, no, they don't age.  Second, it's not IVF. it would be a FET that you're doing.

As far as talking to the doctor, all my experiences have been that when we're ready, it's just a matter of when AF last appeared/ will appear again and then depending on the procedure (IVF vs FET), we can start moving forward.
