Do You Need Bigger Underwear?

I have a Victoria's Secret coupon thingy and I want to go buy some new underwear. Should I get my usual size, or one larger? Please tell me it's the same...

P.S. I'm a size 10 pants/size medium underwear. Skinny girls need not reply. ;) jk i love you all.

Re: Do You Need Bigger Underwear?

  • I would probably go a size bigger.  Your underwear start to bother you in places you don't expect them to.  Or that was my experience anyway.

  • I would go bigger, unless you r buying maternity underwear than you can get ur usual size.  I'm not VS has those.  I got mine at Motherhood with my last PG, and believe it or not they actually make maternity thongs i found suprising when I was PG with my first.  They also have bikini's and briefs depending on what you are into.

    Good luck

  • I feel like I may need to think about some bigger undies soon. I'm usually a size 8/10. I was just thinking yesterday that I feel like my hips are widening. When I wear some of my undies they are feeling a little snug these days...
  • I am a 14 and I already needed to go up a size, sorry :-(

They were riding up my butt and just restrictive in general

  • I am a size 12 pant size. I needed one size up with the last pregnancy.

  • So, sorry if I'm replying...I'm one of those "skinny" girls usually.  But, I can tell you that my ass blossoms - to put a positive spin on it - while prego.  Its amazing how wide it can get.  Anyway, I definitely buy bigger underwear and I move away from thongs and go with cotton boy shorts while expecting.  You're so uncomfortable all over the place, you might as well avoid the underwear issues where you can!
  • Crying thanks! off to the mall in my maternity pants, with my fat butt. hehe.
  • I haven't bought any bigger sizes but I can't wear any thongs anymore! Granny panties all the way!

  • I haven't needed to switch sizes but styles..I normally wear boy shorts and they've been uncomfortable but the same size in bikini were fine and extra comfy...for now, although DH is happy that my butt is well..a butt at all.

  • Depends on your cut - I'm a 14 and my "low rise" stuff all fits fine. Though I lost weight all through 1st trimester (I do have a bump though)

  • I haven't needed bigger underwear yet.  I would just get more comfortable cotton underwear in your size and wear them as long as you can.  I think its generally recommended not to buy maternity wear or larger sizes until you actually need them. You never know what parts will grow and what will not.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

I was a thong girl all the time and now it's all about the briefs. The most comfortable ones I've found are actually the aeropostale briefs... and I didn't go up a size... yet.

  • i have noticed that the "lacy" (or is it lace? anyway...) have been more comfortable because they dont "hug" your body they are pretty lose and stretchy so if you are going to buy your size I would go for those, I have not gone a size up yet but I have noticed that some of my "smaller" style undies arent so comfy anymore.
  • Both this time and last, I had to go a size bigger.  Just like you, I went from a M to L in VS.  But the L fit me through the entire pregnancy last time.

  • Okay, well I got some larges today (pretty larges, though :))...

sidenote: if you're a Pink Nation member, you can get 7/$25. pair that up with a free panty coupon and a free little stuffed Pink dog, not a bad shopping trip.

  • I use to buy small in VS and I had to buy mediums while pregnant and should of bought some larges as well.
