I just spied your "low carb" post below, and was wondering if you'd help me out with some low carb meal ideas?
I'm a carb fiend. I love bread SO much, and potatoes. I'm wondering how on earth I'm going to cut these things out.
If I get a chance today, I'm going to google some meal ideas, but I'm stumped right now. I'm also pretty heartbroken about cutting out a lot of fruit ![]()
Re: Kristysredbarn
That's the thing...cutting out fruit? I just couldn't do it. So I've modified a lot of my diet to be carb-reduced, but I'll never give up my grapefruit or pineapple or watermelon. NEVER!

I love fruit. I could live on it during the summer especially
Also - apologies for the fvcking bump fart.
I love carbs too, so it's been kind of tough, but it seems like it's getting a little easier. I'm still eating some fruit, I think it's too healthy to totally cut out, it's got lots of fiber and vitamins, besides it helps with my sweet tooth. I use to make a lot of pasta or potato based dishes, so it's been a change. Right now I'm making a meat dish and then a side of veggies. I'm not a big salad eater.
Meat dishes:
Kabobs - beef, chicken or shrimp
Chicken breasts
Turkey breast - this is a favorite seasoned with black pepper
Shrimp that has been seasoned
Stir fry
Hamburger steaks
Steaks
Eggs with salsa
Salmon steaks
I really like chicken eggs rolls and they are not high in carbs, maybe not the best choice, but certainly not the worst.

It's by no means LOW-carb, but I've tried eating the same things just heavy on the... whatever.
Pasta Primaver (sp?) but tons of veggies/chicken and only a little pasta
Rice/Curry - I make my own curry and omit carb-y stuff like potatoes
Nachos - For this reason alone I will always love DH. Make anal nachos. Get one chip, LOAD with vegetarian/low-fat refried beans, fresh salsa and 2% cheese, microwave/back till melty and top with fat-free/reduced fat sour cream, onions, etc.
Mashed cauliflower is a wonderful fake-out for mashed potatoes... no it's not the SAME but if you're craving that creamy thing, cauliflower and reduced fat creamy something is great.
