Pre-School and Daycare

WWYD???

My kids are starting with a new babysitter when school starts next month.  Our old sitter just decided she wasn't going to do it anymore, because she wanted more freedom to be involved at her older son's school.  So, the new sitter is a friend sort of, her husband is the football coach at my DH's school.  My DH coaches football with him, and she was a teacher in the district until deciding to stay home this year.  So here is the situation.  Before school got out she told me she was going to charge $45/day for my kids.  Today I got a message from her because I had asked a whole bunch of questions one being how much again (I thought I had lost the email) and she said $50.  Would you say something?  I mean $5/day is kind of a lot over the course of a month.  Plus at this rate I should have been the one to stay home because I am basically going to work to pay for daycare...

Re: WWYD???

  • I'd reply and just say "I'm glad I asked since I thought it was $45." $5 a day is a big difference over time.
  • I would follow up with her to double check the price too. That is a lot over time. :)

  • I would definitely say something like "Oh...ok.  I thought I had remembered you said $45, Was I mistaken?" or somethign to that effect.
  • I think you should follow up with what the other poster mentioned. "Good thing I asked, I thought you said $45."

That is a lot of money. In 4 weeks that'll be $100 more.
