Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any info. on the new Midwifery Program at Kaiser Permenente? I know it exsists, but that's about it. I heard they are doing water births over there too? Anyone hear about that? Do they have a tub there?? Any info would really help.
Re: Kaiser Moanalua Midwifery Program
I heard about this program right after I had my baby. Sorry I don't know too much about it but have you checked out the Kaiser website? Also, I didn't see any tubs when I delivered so I don't think they are offering water birth.
Maybe you could just call them and see? All MWs (and OBs) around here offer a free meet and greet and you could get all your questions answered during that meeting.
I hope that they are including the possibility of water birth, or at least a tub to labor in. My hospital included 2 rooms (of 10ish I think) with tubs after their last remodel because women were actually renting and bringing tubs INTO the hospital before that!
Hi, Good News! I found out last week that YES they do have tubs available now. You have to bring your own 25' garden hose for hygenic reasons to fill and empty the tub. You also have to buy a liner for $20 and they have those at the hospital. To see a list of midwives go to kp.org/midwife/hi
