Hello!! We are just waiting for the pediatrician to check Reese & release us to go home, so I thought I would pop in. Reese is doing great. She is so adorable, and we are so in love. She definitely has her days and nights mixed up. I think I have slept a total of about 8 hours since she was born. She will not sleep at night unless she is laying on my chest next to the breast. She won't sleep in Matt's arms or even my arms at night. She has to be right next to the boob. Hopefully that changes soon because I don't really feel comfortable continuing that routine for safety purposes. (Any suggestions?) She is also cluster feeding at night, so there isn't much time for breaks. So, unfortunately, I'm headed home a little sleep deprived, but I'm hoping to crash for awhile once we get there since she loves being taken care of by Daddy during the day. She is feeding really well, but my nipples feel like they are about to fall off. I had no idea how painful this would be. The LC says that her latch looks great, so I think it's just my sensitive nipple issue. I'm hoping my body adjusts & it gets better because right now I sit & grit my teeth & fight back tears to get through feedings.
Thank you so much for all of the well wishes the last couple of days. I'm so excited to join the mommy club!

Just so you feel better, it is not just your sensitive boobies.....When G use to latch on my toes would literally curl and I would bite my tongue it hurt sooooo bad!!!! It is all of our boobies lol!! Don't give up, mine hurt like that for a good 3 weeks, but now I don't even know she is on, unless I look down lol..
As far as sleeping on your chest, yup G did that too...For almost a month she slept on my chest, than finally I was able to break her of it, so again I am no help with that either!!
I am so glad she is doing good and DH is such a wonderful help!!! Get as much rest as you can, although we all know how hard that can be!!!
This!
I'm so glad to hear things are going well! C was definitely mixed up while we were in the hospital with his day/night but once we got home he figured it out and sleeps in 3 hour spurts through the night.
And I can tell you the bf gets better. One of my boobs is already so much less painful, and the other ... well it has a nice big crack in it and hurts like heck but i keep lathering it in the lanolin stuff and its slowly getting better but I still start to sweat even thinking about him latching to it.
I can't wait to see more pictures! Reese is absolutely adorable.
Hi there mama! Congrats! Like Mel said, it's just not your boobies! Latching on was very painful for a few weeks. It does get better...hang in there! Just load up on the lanolin after every feeding and you'll be feeling better soon.
Hope you can get some rest when you get home. It's amazing what a little bit of sleep can do!
