Maternity Leave Question

I have been plagued with migraines my whole pregnancy and had intermittent FLMA from work for those days.  Now I am down to just a little over two weeks and have had one every day for the last 5 days.  Has anyone ever heard of getting maternity leave for migraines?  My work won't approved my leave or STD unless the doctor says so, so has anyone ever been in this situation?

You need to talk to your doctor about this.  Every doctor is different on what they will/ will not approve as a reason to leave work.

So you've already used approximately 10 weeks of FMLA leave for migraines?  Even if your doctor approves the time off from the migraines, you are still only left with 2 weeks of FMLA job coverage.  Even if your work approves your STD, your job is only covered for 2 of those six weeks.  At least this is how it was explained to me at my company.  You should definitely talk to someone sooner rather than later, you don't want to find yourself in a bind later on down the road closer to your due date.

I am so sorry, I see where you confused.  I am due in 2 weeks, not that I have 2 weeks left of FMLA. I have maybe used 2 or 3 weeks total.  I only don't work when I have a migraine which used to be once a week or every other week.  I only use a day here and there.

You should def talk to our doctor. You may not need to take anymore from your maternity leave. And even if you do have to use it all the way up, your doctor wont let you go back to work until he's sure you're healed after the baby. So you'll still get some time to recooperate.
