Potty Training

29 months and have not started to Potty train...

I have approached the subject months ago, actually even before my DD turned 2. I know this is no excuse, but I am a full time working mom and I am never home long enough to get a flow going. My mother actually watches her full time.

I make attempts and try to et her into it by wearing her Dora panties and I tell her to let me know when she feels she has to go, but she ends up having an accident.

I know she shows all the signs of being ready. She is just not into it and she is not the kind of kid that you can just order around. She definitely needs to be over the diaper and ready to do it. I am just at a loss for ideas in how to get her excited about it. I don't want to scare her off.

What have you all done? REALLY want to get her out of diapers before baby #2 comes in December.

 TIA

  • I think just being consistent in whatever you decide is really important. Some people do the 3 day potty training and there is a 1 day potty training method too. Google it and see what you think. Your mom is going to have to be onboard in whatever you decide as well. What method did she use while PT? What is she most comfortable doing?

I went to undies, no diapers and pull ups at nap and night time to start. My DS turned 2 in May. I decided to try PT because I am off for the summer and didn't want to try while i was working or wait until next summer after he had turned 3. He is doing really well.

I think from my experiences, that you can get your LO trained by December. You just can't give up if it gets messy.  Good Luck!
