I have been out of the loop for a while now, but I wanted to thank you all for all of the kind words and warm wishes and helpful advice! ) I realized I haven't updated about what's going on.
Let's see ... last month was one of the hardest of my life. My Mom got very sick while she was here and was in the hospital for a week. That was a rough week, to put it mildly. When she came home (back to our house), she still couldn't really walk on her own, so we had a hospital bed set up in our living room and she had PT here until she went back to Tennessee (weekend before last). Helping her was one of the hardest but most rewarding things I have done. It was very challenging at times to constantly wrangle Kate (who hardly sits still) and to make sure Mom was taken care of at the same time--but we figured out a schedule and a rhythm and it worked out. Getting to her doctors' appointments was challenging, too, but I am so thankful for wonderful friends who watched Kate. It is so difficult to see your parents age and struggle with health issues. Mom is only 66. ( BUT ... we made it through and she is doing a lot better and was well enough to go home. Yay! We are so grateful, and I am so, so thankful to have had such a special time with my Mom. It really was a gift, even if it was hard at times.
In other family news, we are expecting Isaac home sometime next month. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but the timing is out of our hands. We have been very busy the last few days getting their rooms ready and figuring out what needs to be bought and done before he arrives. We are so excited! Thanks for the advice on the diapers--very helpful!
If you are still reading this, thanks! ) Have a great day!

Its hard when your parents get sick dealing with their aging but I know your mom was so happy to have you and kate to take care of her.
Exciting stuff about Isaac! See ya later.
What a roller coaster, Karen! I'm glad your mom has stabilized and is back home re-cooperating. I can't imagine how difficult it was for you.
And then Isaac getting to come home! What excitement! I've been reading your blog and I'm so stinkin' excited for you! What a lucky little boy. Lots of hugs and best wishes to y'all in this new transition.
Good to hear from you!
I'm sorry your Mom got so sick when she was here. You are a wonderful daughter for caring for her and nursing her back to health.

I'm so sorry to hear what your mom is going through. I understand how you feel. Eight years ago, my dad was very ill and I was helping my mom take care of him. He was in and out of the hospital and we had to have additional care at home. It's very hard seeing a parent go through so much. I'll be praying for you.
I'm so excited about Isaac. I can't wait to hear you announce that he is finally home. I hope the time goes quickly for you.
I am sorry to hear about your mom.
It is exciting to hear that Isaac will be with you very soon. Yay!
So happy to hear from you. I am sorry about your mom's health. I too took care of my mom and as challenging as it was I will never forget how rewarding it was. So happy she was healthy enough to go home. It is horrible to be sick and not in your owb comfy home. I am sure she was happy to have you there to help her.
YAY for baby! I bet Kate is so excited with all the happenings! She will be a great big sister to Isaac! I can't wait to meet him! Take care and rest up you are gonna be busy!
