Anyone else feeling so totally overwhelmed? I mean, I'm excited for baby #1, but this wasn't planned. My husband and I have been married for just over a year now, but he still has 1 year left of schooling. We were hoping to wait until he graduated (May 2011) before at least having a baby born.
Well, as you can see, EDD is 2 months before he graduates. I've been the one working full-time to pay the bills and put him through college (he works part-time, about 20hrs/wk). Now, with baby on the way, he'll have to work more hours, especially in the spring.
I'm also wondering how working outside is going to affect my pregnancy. I'm a gardener at the campus where DH goes to school, so I'm out in the sun about 6 hrs/day (sometimes more). I'm kinda stressing out about that too...
I just feel so totally unready for this, even though I've been wanting a baby sooner or later. I just didn't realize it'd be this soon...
Re: Overwhelmed?
Hmmm kudos to you for being the one carrying the weight so he can get an education.
IMO both people need to sacrifice to make things work, so he may need to work alot more.
I worked full time and went to School full time with a two year old, so it can be done although it's not easy.
As far as working outside, you will probably be really tired continuing to do this while pregnant.
Good Luck!
I think that everyone feels overwhelmed sometimes. With DD there were times where I thought to myself what have I gotten into and she was planned. Even though we tried for quite a while for this LO I still feel a little overwhelmed sometimes about the impact it will have on finances and DD.
I think that it is a completely natural response to life changing circumstances. As long as you are willing to adjust and make the changes you need to things will work out and you will manage.
Oh and remeber lots of women have worked outside for centuries and their babies were just fine. Just make sure to drink lots of water and not overdo it. Oh and have someone else spray pesticides if that's part of your job.
