I think pretty much any middle name (other than those ending in -er/-or) would work fine as a middle name. If you don't have a family name you want to use, here are just a few suggestions:

My son is Carter Clifford. Yep like the big red dog...however it is a family name on my H's side. Clifford has been the mn of the first boy in the family for 7 generations now. It actually has a nice ring to it. I do like the suggestions from the pp right above me though and oddly like Carter Jude also suggested above.
