sometimes when BF LO falls asleep by the end of the feeding. If it's at nighttime do I need to change his diaper at the end of the feeding? I would normally just change it at the beginning but once LO is awake, you need to feed him right away or he is a screaming banshee and is inconsolable.
Re: ? on diaper changes at night
Ahhh it's hard to know. Early on when sam was pooping round the clock, I had a routine: unswaddle, feed, change, reswaddle, and feed until back asleep. We couldn't change him when he first woke up because he was hungry and would flip out, and then after feeding him changing him would wake him back up. So we did the multistep feed/change/feed thing. It really only lasted the first month and a half or two, then he stopped pooping overnight and we could get away with using an overnight diaper (we use cloth, so would use either two prefold cloth diapers or an all-in-one with two inserts). With sposies I think there are specific diapers for overnights. Once we stopped the MOTN changes all of our lives got simpler
Sam doesn't mind a wet diaper and with the AIO cloth diapers even though the insert is soaked, his bum stays dry so we don't have to change overnight even though he still does have MOTN feedings. If your LO is uncomfortable in a wet dipe you may have to keep it up. Just depends on your babe.

I believe we changed it before he ate so that we don't disturb once he's done and asleep. Our son would also cry and scream but we would be over fairly quickly and he forgot all about it once he started eating.

They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
I'd only change it if there is poop.
Now, with her older, we don't wake her on the off chane she poops while fast asleep, because she's never had diaper rash.
