SO I just found out my teaching schedule for this fall. I literally teach class until 12:30 everyday, when I have lunch, then I have conference period from 2-245. I'll nurse DD in the am around 6 or 630, but I'll have to wait until 12:30 to pump.
How and when do I prepare my boobs for going 6 hours without getting the milk outta me?! Do I just cut out the 9/9:30 feeding a week in advance, or should I pump less and less at that time gradually until my body adjusts?
Anyone have experience with this?
And will my supply still be sufficient for all my other feedings if I do this?
So do not want to go back to work. . .
Re: back to work schedule/cutting out 1 feeding Q
What time do you start work?
Since I went back to work three months ago this is what I have done:
Feed baby at 6 (he eats 2-3 x during night). Pump at 7 before work. Pump at 1230 at lunch, then pump at 5 after work, then nurse baby at 530.
I didnt do anything different to "prepare" for going back to work and there were a couple days in the beginning that I snuck into a bathroom and used a hand pump to relieve the engorgement but my body adjusted after about 2-3 wks. I still pump more than enough for my baby and am freezing about 24 oz a week. Going back to work sucks but it gets better as time goes on. GL
WOW What is your secret to pumping so much extra
